KASAPREKO COMPANY LIMITED (KCL) founded in 1989 in Nungua by Dr. Kwabena Adjei; is one of the leading and successful alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverage producing companies in Ghana.

 

First set up in the garage of the owner in response to the growing demand for quality alcoholic drinks. The company has since grown into a multi-national company with state of the art automated factory located off the Spintex Road in Accra.

Kasapreko’s vision differed from that of other alcoholic drink manufacturers in the country as it identified the increasing sophistication in the consumer, i.e. consistency in product taste, quality and packaging. This meant the consumer was spending more on foreign imports and aspired for quality products. This was the mass niche that Kasapreko set out to serve, ensuring that it produced quality drinks at affordable prices for the ordinary Ghanaian.The company rapidly ascended to the leadership position within the Gin market with it “Kasapreko London Dry Gin”, which became the Gin of choice for consumers.

Kasapreko Company was the first of the local manufacturers to establish a modern quality control and product development laboratory and the first to introduce its own proprietary bespoke bottles and caps. Kasapreko was also responsible for the conceptualization, research, design and development of the first scientifically formulated, herbal-based alcoholic beverage in Ghana – Alomo Bitters which is now the company’s flagship product. Our unique selling preposition of producing herbal based products is derived from our rich Ghanaian heritage, differentiating Kasapreko from others. We continuously make use of research and development as well as the latest technology with local/traditional recipes in our production process.

Kasapreko Company Limited (Kasapreko) is the leading herbal drink manufacturer in Ghana. As a member of the Ghana Club 100, Kasapreko is a true representation of an authentically Ghanaian corporate brand. The business was birthed out of a goal to provide quality drinks at affordable prices for the Ghanaian; a vision that has now expanded to a global focus.

Today Kasapreko has products sold worldwide under a variety of brands in the bitters, whisky, gin, liqueur, brandy and wine drink categories. Our brands are celebrated in Africa and across the world.

 

OUR OPERATIONS

We are a multinational company that employs over 500 professionals and hundreds of contracted staff to see to the seamless achievement of our vision; a drive overseen by an august board and championed by a pioneering management team. We pride ourselves in the wealth of human resource within and the profitable partnerships we have cultivated with suppliers across the breadth of our operations.

Our state of the art production facility located at Spintex in Accra, is equipped with world-­‐class machinery that contribute to the production of our various brands in different kinds of packaging. Our customized high-­‐speed production lines give us the ability to package over 60,000 bottles of products in just one hour, in both glass and PET bottles and also fill up 120,000 plastic sachets per shift.

Our commitment to quality and the drive to remain the market leader is sustained in the emphasis we place on research and development and in our adoption of the latest technology for our operations. As the first local manufacturer to establish a modern quality control and product development laboratory, and the first to introduce its own proprietary custom-­‐made bottles and caps, we were proud to be awarded as The Manufacturing Company of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana in 2013.

 

OUR HERITAGE

Kasapreko was established in 1989 by Dr. Kwabena Adjei, a businessman, with the determination to respond to the growing demand for quality alcoholic drinks. He started the business in a garage in Nungua, a suburb of Accra with just five employees who put their drive and passion to work.

Breaking into the market was quite the task but one that was achieved by adopting a truly authentic approach; producing herbal-­‐based products derived from rich herbs, locally sourced from Ghana’s wealth of organic ingredients.

 

OUR BRANDS

Kasapreko has established brands in more than 10 different drink categories and continues to expand the range while expanding each brand’s offerings. Our flagship brand, the award winning Alomo Bitters, is the embodiment of the success that the company is capable of reaching across the world. Marked as Ghana’s first scientifically crafted herbal based alcoholic beverage, Alomo Bitters has been at the top of the list when it comes to herbal alcoholic beverages in Ghana and now in several African countries, even spreading beyond the continent. In the last quarter of 2013, CNN Money identified Alomo Bitters to be among the top 5 emerging brands in the world.

Our other brands, namely Kasapreko London Dry Gin, Kalahari Bitters, Opeimu Herbal Bitters, Airforce Bitters, K20 Whisky, K20 Dry Gin, Kasapreko Barman Herbal Gin, Carnival Strawberry, VIP Irish Cream, Kasapreko Brandy, Tonic Wine, Kasavino Vermouth, Lime Cordial and Classic Margarita Lime have also earned their stripes in the market and enjoy great patronage, mostly as the customer’s first choice.

OUR FOOTPRINT

With our origins in Ghana, we ensure a dominant presence on the market, making sure our products are available at every corner of the country. Our partnerships with distributors are purposefully determined to give our brands a blanket presence nationwide while mapping the course for expansion to neighboring countries and the rest of Africa.

We are making strategic strides at a pace that is ambitious and exciting. In 2010, we received the gold award for our export achievements and two years later, awarded the Exporter of The Year in 2012. Now, with partner distributors in West and Southern Africa, our brands are visibly penetrating several other markets on the African continent, the most notable being the Federal Republic of Nigeria market, where Alomo Bitters has fast become the herbal drink of choice. Alomo’s international success is traced deep down to the roots of its authentic herbal composition and organic appeal. With Alomo Bitters, we used a local recipe, to create a truly international brand. This is forms part of the insight that leads us to success in other markets with our other brands.

 

THE FUTURE

There are a lot of plans set to expand our range of brands to deliver many more great-­‐tasting beverages to the market. Soon we will be producing Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD) and Water, two categories that we believe are in the right direction in optimizing consumer choices and satisfaction.

Our vision is to be celebrated as the world’s local herbal drink manufacturer; the global player focused on providing herbal-­‐based beverages worldwide.
