A year ago, Kasapreko PLC, in partnership with Herbal Farms and the Forestry Commission, planted over a thousand mahogany trees as the company’s first collective step toward climate action.
On August 22, the group returned to Chipa Forest not just to visit but to nurture the young trees. With pride and purpose, the team found the seedlings had taken root and were developing into healthy saplings. The initiative received strong support from Kasapreko PLC’s management, reflecting the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, particularly important for Alomo Bitters, our flagship product that sources its raw materials from nature itself.
Present at the initiative was our Deputy Managing Director, Greg Pitt. In his address, he stated, “In just one year we have witnessed a remarkable transformation on the parcel we planted. Land that was once bare and plowed is now regenerating with shrubs and young trees. This visible recovery demonstrates nature’s resilience and directly supports our business model as a herbal-based beverage company, securing local, sustainable raw materials while restoring ecosystem services that benefit communities and production alike.”
This reforestation drive aligns strongly with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). The Health, Safety and Environment Manager, Isabelle Esi Defor, reiterated that the seedlings planted were symbols of hope and a promise to future generations for a greener Ghana.
Kasapreko PLC aims to inspire a new generation of environmental champions who understand that protecting the planet starts with a single seed and grows through sustained care and collective action. When we nurture trees, we are nurturing the future.
