On September 13th, 2024, Kasapreko PLC, along with its subsidiaries, officially launched its Whistleblowing Policy, an initiative driven by the management board of Pinnacle Holdings Company Limited, with KPMG as the official execution partner. The theme of the event, “Report & Restore”, emphasized the importance of reporting misconduct while ensuring personal protection and confidentiality. The launch took place at the forecourt of Kasapreko PLC and was well attended by key executives from across the Pinnacle Group of Companies.
During the launch, Group CEO Mr. Samuel Abordo highlighted the critical importance of the well-being and sustainability of the Group, which served as a key reason behind introducing the Whistleblowing Policy. He assured staff that their safety and support are paramount, encouraging them to report any criminal or civil misconduct through the dedicated KPMG whistleblowing lines. To strengthen the process further, Mr. Abordo introduced a 6-member Internal Control Committee (ICC), composed of representatives from each subsidiary. This panel is tasked with leading investigations and providing comprehensive reports on any issues raised, ensuring transparency and accountability across the Group. Mr. Andrew Akoto Snr., Head of Advisory at KPMG, explained the role KPMG will play in implementing the policy, ensuring that all reports remain confidential and that whistleblowers are protected throughout the process.
As part of the launch event, a comedy skit was performed to demonstrate real-life scenarios in which employees could engage with and adhere to the whistleblowing policy. The skit creatively illustrated various situations staff might encounter, highlighting the importance of reporting unethical practices while ensuring their protection. This engaging performance not only entertained but also educated employees on how to actively participate in fostering a transparent and accountable work environment, reinforcing the core principles of the policy in an accessible and relatable way. The demonstration underscored how staff members can safely and anonymously report misconduct, ensuring that their identities are protected while addressing issues that threaten the company’s integrity. This role play helped clearly illustrate the process and reassure employees of the support they will receive.
