On April 28th, Kasapreko PLC joined the global community in commemorating the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, reaffirming its commitment to building a safer, smarter, and more resilient workplace through innovation and collective responsibility.
This year’s global theme, “The Impact of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Worker’s Safety and Health,” was especially relevant as discussions focused on how modern technologies are reshaping safety practices within industrial environments.
The day’s activities began with a site-wide emergency drill, designed to test and improve response times to alarm triggers. The event was followed by a staff gathering at the loading bay, where leadership and department representatives highlighted key innovations in workplace safety, including the use of fire detection systems, overflow sensors, IoT-enabled water taps, safety interlocks on production lines, and smart access control systems.
Discussions centered on the role of digital transformation in enhancing safety, from automating hazardous tasks and enabling real-time monitoring through wearables to AI-powered early warning systems and ergonomic workspace design. The potential of AI to support predictive alerts in high-risk zones and conserve energy through intelligent motion sensors was also emphasized.
Throughout the session, attention was drawn to the importance of empowering people alongside machines. Emphasis was placed on ongoing staff training, upskilling, and digital literacy as essential elements in ensuring that technology is used effectively and responsibly.
