Accra, Ghana – Kasapreko PLC, one of Ghana’s leading beverage manufacturing companies, has reaffirmed its commitment to industrial expansion, job creation and global competitiveness following a historic visit by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, to its manufacturing facility in Accra.
The visit marked another significant milestone in Kasapreko’s growth journey, highlighting the transformation of an indigenous Ghanaian enterprise into a publicly listed manufacturing powerhouse with an expanding international footprint. From its humble beginnings with just five employees, Kasapreko PLC has grown into one of Ghana’s leading beverage manufacturers, currently employing over 2,000 Ghanaians and building a diversified portfolio of brands that continue to gain recognition in local and international markets.
The presidential visit provided an opportunity to showcase the company’s investments in modern manufacturing technology, production capacity and product innovation, as well as its broader ambition to position Ghana as a competitive manufacturing hub within Africa. Central to Kasapreko’s growth story is its historic listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange in June 2026, following a successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) that raised GH¢700 million. The offer attracted investor applications valued at approximately GH¢1.72 billion, more than twice the amount sought, demonstrating strong investor confidence in the company’s business fundamentals, leadership and long-term growth prospects. For Kasapreko PLC, the successful listing represents more than a financial milestone. It signals a new chapter in the company’s evolution, providing a platform to accelerate industrial investment, strengthen manufacturing capabilities and pursue sustainable expansion.
Speaking during the visit, Managing Director Richard Adjei reaffirmed the company’s belief that Ghanaian enterprises have the capacity to build world-class businesses, compete internationally and make meaningful contributions to national economic transformation. This ambition is already taking shape through the development of Kasapreko’s new manufacturing complex at Adeiso, one of the company’s most significant industrial investments to date.
The new facility, approximately three times the size of its existing Spintex factory, is designed to accommodate high-speed production lines for bottled water, juices and carbonated soft drinks, with a combined installed capacity of approximately 250,000 bottles per hour. The investment is expected to enhance production efficiency, increase manufacturing output and strengthen the company’s ability to serve domestic and regional markets under ECOWAS and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Beyond production capacity, the expansion is projected to create approximately 1,000 additional direct and indirect employment opportunities across various sectors, including transportation, distribution and packaging. This reinforces Kasapreko’s commitment to investing in Ghana, developing local industrial capacity and contributing to sustainable economic growth.
Kasapreko’s success has also been driven by continuous innovation, portfolio diversification and expansion beyond Ghana’s borders. From its flagship Alomo Bitters brand to Awake Water, Freedom Beer and its growing range of beverages, the company continues to respond to evolving consumer preferences while strengthening the international presence of Ghanaian-made products. During his engagement with Management, President Mahama commended Kasapreko’s remarkable growth and its ability to establish Ghanaian brands in international markets, including the United States and other parts of Africa. He acknowledged the company’s successful transition from a family-owned business into a publicly listed enterprise, describing its journey as an example of how indigenous businesses can attract investment, achieve scale and build lasting institutions.
The President also reflected on the company’s manufacturing transformation since his previous visit, recognizing its sustained investment in production capacity, innovation and product diversification. As Kasapreko looks ahead, the company is positioning itself to take advantage of opportunities within Ghana’s evolving industrial landscape, including the Government’s 24-Hour Economy initiative. With several manufacturing operations already running multiple production shifts, the company sees opportunities to increase output, improve operational efficiency, support employment and accelerate export growth.
Kasapreko is also exploring future investments in agro-processing as part of efforts to strengthen local value chains, create opportunities for Ghanaian farmers, reduce dependence on imported raw materials and promote greater local value addition. These ambitions reflect a long-term growth strategy that extends beyond beverage manufacturing to broader participation in Ghana’s industrial and economic transformation. For Kasapreko PLC, the presidential visit represents recognition of decades of entrepreneurship, resilience, innovation and sustained private-sector investment. What began as a modest indigenous business founded by Dr. Kwabena Adjei has evolved into a leading Ghanaian manufacturing company with growing international ambitions. As the company enters its next phase of growth, its focus remains firmly on expanding manufacturing capacity, developing innovative products, creating sustainable employment and strengthening the global competitiveness of Ghanaian brands.
From Ghana to the world, Kasapreko PLC continues to demonstrate that homegrown businesses can build world-class brands, drive industrial transformation and compete successfully on the global stage.
